Low Profile Channel Magnet
What is a magnet assembly?

A magnet assembly incorporates magnet and non-magnet materials, usually magnetizing them together to create a stronger magnetic circuit.  The non-magnet materials typically incorporate mounting mechanisms for holding applications, and also protect the magnet material from damage during use.

Up to 32 times stronger than individual ceramic magnets, Adams' standard magnetic assemblies are comprised of powerful magnets encased in plated or power-coated steel cups, channels or plates. Our stock neodymium assemblies hold up to 300 pounds each!

Stock or made to order

Adams Magnetic Products produced the first round base magnet assembly back in 1950, and while that same model is still a best-seller, we've come a long way since then. Together with partners like Falcon, Cisco and Polyvision, Adams has built thousands of custom magnet assemblies.

We have local manufacturing and fabrication facilities in Chicago, the heart of industrial design in America. Equipped to fabricate large and small volumes, we can work with all materials. We can provide engineering assistance to your design, or we can work from your established print.  Learn more!

Our round base magnet assemblies are made with either ceramic or neodymium magnets combined with steel cups.
These rectangular base magnets channel great holding strength onto one surface. Add a rubber boot and they won’t slide!
A magnet sandwiched between two pole pieces give this assembly greater “reach” compared to RBs or Channels.
Adams magnetic latches provide diverse installation options and can replace standard latch hardware on doors.
The Adams pocket magnet is a handy magnetic tool that identifies valuable ferrous materials such as iron and steel.
Electromagnets’ magnetic field is created by the flow of electric current. Direct contact with ferrous metal is required.

Why choose Adams for magnetic assembly and devices?

Adams Magnetic Products has been designing and manufacturing magnetic assemblies, tools and devices since 1950. We have had the exciting privilege to work with several outstanding companies developing magnetic devices. We support some very recognizable names in the manufacture of retail consumer products using magnets.

Now we have assembly-manufacturing facilities in Illinois, California, and China to support the high demand for this low cost, high strength, versatile product line. We keep hundreds of thousands of standard magnetic assembly devices in stock. We can also create custom assemblies in just about any shape or size.

Large selection or custom applications

We keep hundreds of thousands of standard magnetic assemblies in stock. We also make custom assemblies to serve any new application you come up with.   Magnetic latches, electromagnets, pocket magnets and tool racks are also available to meet your project requirements.

Colors and packaging

Adams can produce our assemblies and devices in just about any finish or color. We can package them in individual bags or other the packaging types you specify.

Published pull strength of our standard magnetic assembly devices is measured on a flat steel plate 1/2" thick. If your steel is thinner, coated or the surface is rough or rusty, the pull may vary. It is recommended that you obtain a sample for testing in your specific application.  Want to know how we test pull strength, or read about the effect of an air gap?  Click here!

Safety advisory

Please use caution when handling a magnetic assembly device. Their exceptional magnetic force may cause them to attract metal so strongly that holding them could result in injury to fingers.

Additionally, many of our magnetic assemblies are made with ceramic magnets, which are brittle and may break if dropped or if riveting is used in their application.
